Inside the Freight Village of Nola in the Italian region of Campania, 25 Alstom high-speed electric trains are serviced every day.
The electrical installation covers a total area of 140,000 square metres, with approximately 30,000 square metres of covered area.
In the Freight Village area, equipped with 11 tracks connected to the national railway network, sanitation and breakdown maintenance activities are carried out on the entire Italo fleet.
Problems related to the electrical installation of infrastructures such as freight villages:
- Electrical switchboards installed outdoors are subject to weather, shocks and vibrations.
- The motors of the equipment used to service the trains have a very high current flow to handle during the start-up phase.
- There is a risk of possible accidental contact with switchboards.
TAIS Palazzoli switchboards for infrastructure:
TAIS switchboards made of Palazzoli thermosetting GRP have IP66/IP67 protection rating. This makes them totally protected against: dust, water emitted at high pressure and high temperatures.
The shock resistance of TAIS switchboards for infrastructure is IK10 (2 Kg from 1 meter), the highest in its category.
The screws that close the cover to the enclosure of the TAIS switchboards for infrastructure pass through threaded inserts and an anti-unscrewing washer.
The AC3 - AC23A switch-disconnector provided on each TAIS interlocked socket ensures the power supply of motors with highly inductive loads.
Finally, TAIS is synonymous with safety as operators interacting on the switchboard are protected from indirect contacts thanks to the double insulation.
