November 2021 - Culture settles down and becomes history, but also enlightenment over the centuries has made its big steps forward. And an unprecedented community of purposes was born between the fifteenth-century Pietro da Cemmo hall, which is part of the Marenzio conservatory, and Palazzoli, more than a hundred-year-old city electrotechnical company.
As part of its cultural support activities, Palazzoli helped to equip the Hall with a complete state-of-the-art lighting system. Especially a mobile, modular, non-invasive system because, of course, the structures are untouchable, frescoed in the last years of the 1400s by Giovanni Pietro da Cemmo and his workshop. The works are thus enhanced by a more diffused and warmer light.
On the technical side, it can be said that Palazzoli has supplied the 20 Tigua floodlights of 188 watts and 22,900 lm, particularly suitable for spaces that require the control of light, its uniformity and the absence of glare.
“We are particularly proud of this contribution to the city's cultural institutions,” says Luigi Moretti, president of Palazzoli. “On the other hand – he adds – we have 120 years of research and innovation behind us, to make life conditions more pleasant. In homes, in factories, on the streets and even in places of culture. ”
The Hall
The hall was originally the great Library of the Augustinian convent of San Barnaba, settled in the city in 1457. The entire wall surface is occupied by a rich decorative apparatus, frescoed in 1490 by Giovanni Pietro da Cemmo and his workshop: a complex and concatenated exaltation of the Augustinian Order and wisdom, through the "exempla vitae" and the portraits of the Augustinian friars, saints and blesseds, all enclosed by a fine wooden coffered ceiling.
